Worship is at the very heart of Christian community. Our common prayer both forms and expresses who and whose we are. Life-filled worship is the experience of true evangelization for the first-time attendee. It’s an inexhaustible font of life for the believer. It’s a foretaste of God’s reign for all who seek in humbleness.

Yet today many Lutherans and others are asking whether their experience of worship is truly welcoming, passionate and relevant. Is it possible for worship to be faithful to a living tradition, welcoming and inviting to the unchurched, vibrant and spirit-filled while simultaneously bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ into a real and prophetic engagement with the larger world?

The Living Liturgy weekend was conceived as an opportunity for Lutheran worship leaders to experience and study and reflect on ways to help their communities pray with power, integrity and meaning.

Who should attend these events?

All those involved in leading worship: pastors, presiders and assisting ministers, music directors, organists, choir directors and members, those who play in worship bands and ministers of the word. The workshop is structured to offer practical and easily implemented techniques for all ministries, as well as deep theological, scriptural and liturgical support for worship planning and renewal in these rapidly changing times.
